Color alone doesn’t provide a diagnosis.
What matters is the combination of the color, how long it lasts, and whether you have other symptoms.
Seek medical advice if an unusual urine color persists or is accompanied by:
Pain or burning when urinating
Fever or chills
Back or side pain
Visible blood
Abdominal pain
Yellow skin or eyes
Significant changes in how often you urinate
Very dark urine that doesn’t improve with adequate hydration
Most changes in urine color are temporary and harmless.
Your urine can naturally become darker overnight, lighter after drinking water, or change after certain foods and medications.
So the next time you notice a different shade, don’t automatically assume something is wrong.
But don’t ignore persistent or unexplained changes either.
Urine color can offer clues, but it’s only one piece of the health picture.
