Late-night screen time, pollution, and processed food can chip away at the collagen that keeps skin bouncy and firm. Cloves are rich in eugenol, a potent antioxidant that mops up free radicals, while lemon’s vitamin C is essential for new collagen formation and brightening tired complexions. Chia seeds swell into a hydrating gel brimming with omega-3 fatty acids that reinforce the skin barrier and boost elasticity. When these stars are brewed together—then layered with turmeric, ginger, honey, fresh mint, and a sprinkling of black pepper—you get a functional beauty shot that rivals pricey collagen drinks, minus any synthetic additives.
Ingredients Required:
(Makes two 250 ml servings)
6–8 whole cloves (laung)
1 tablespoon chia seeds
Juice of 1 fresh lemon
½ teaspoon freshly grated ginger
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder Herbs& Spices
1 teaspoon raw honey
4–5 fresh mint leaves
A pinch of freshly cracked black pepper
500 ml filtered water
Procedure:
Soak & swell – Add chia seeds to 100 ml lukewarm water and let them sit for about 10 minutes, allowing the seeds to bloom into a thick gel.
Spice infusion – In a small pan, bring the remaining 400 ml water to a gentle boil. Add whole cloves, grated ginger, and turmeric powder. Simmer for 5 minutes so the antioxidants and curcumin infuse the water.
