Step 1: Brew the Hibiscus Tea
Bring 8 cups of water to a boil.
Remove from the heat and add the hibiscus tea bags (or dried hibiscus flowers).
Steep for 10–15 minutes.
Remove the tea bags or strain out the flowers.
Allow the tea to cool completely.
Step 2: Mix the Protein
Pour about 1 cup of the cooled tea into a shaker bottle.
Add the protein powder and shake until completely dissolved.
This helps prevent clumps.
Step 3: Assemble the Drink
Pour the remaining cooled tea into a large pitcher or beverage dispenser.
Stir in the dissolved protein mixture.
Add the remaining 8 cups of cold water.
Step 4: Add the Fruit
Stir in the sliced strawberries, blueberries, lemon slices, and lime slices.
Add the sweetener if desired and mix well.
Step 5: Chill
Refrigerate for 2–4 hours to allow the fruit to infuse the drink with flavor.
Step 6: Serve
Fill glasses with ice.
Pour the refresher over the ice, making sure to include some of the fruit in each serving.
Stir before serving if the protein settles.
Tips
Use whey protein isolate for the highest protein with the fewest calories and carbohydrates.
Add fresh mint leaves for an extra refreshing flavor.
Frozen berries work well and help keep the drink cold.
Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Stir or shake before serving if separation occurs.
