Let’s be honest up front: no drink burns fat. If a glass of anything could melt away weight, the whole diet industry would collapse overnight. But a well-made morning drink can genuinely help — not by magic, but by doing a few small, real things that add up. Here’s the one we make at home, what each ingredient actually does, and where the honest limits are.
The recipe
Ginger, Green Tea & Lemon Morning drink
You’ll need:
1 cup hot water (not boiling)
1 green tea bag (or 1 tsp loose green tea)
½ inch fresh ginger, grated
Juice of ½ a lemon
A small pinch of cinnamon (optional)
¼ tsp raw honey (optional, only if you need it)
Method: Steep the green tea and grated ginger in hot water for 3–4 minutes. Strain, let it cool to warm, then stir in the lemon juice (adding it to very hot water dulls its vitamin C and makes it bitter). Add cinnamon and honey if using. Sip it slowly, ideally 20–30 minutes before breakfast.
Why it works — the honest version
None of these ingredients is a fat-burner. What they do is more modest and more real:
